3. How to Use Velocity Extension (Including Stage/Data Mapping)

Introduction

This article walks you through using the deal creation and deal update buttons in the BluMortgage CRM and describes how the Velocity Integration maps data when you use the various buttons to pull your mortgage data from Velocity.

Pull From Velocity Buttons

Scenario 1: Creating a deal in BluMortgage that didn't exist before:


To create a deal in BluMortgage from Velocity, please follow these instructions:
  1. Navigate to Mortgages: In the top menu bar, click the "Mortgages" module
  2. Click the Pull from Velocity Button: The button is in the top right of your screen next to the "Actions" button
  3. Enter the Velocity Deal Number and Submit: There is no need to include your firm code as it'll auto populate.

Scenario 2: Updating an existing deal in the CRM from Velocity

To update a deal that already exists in BluMortgage from Velocity, please follow these instructions:
  1. Navigate to Mortgages: In the top menu bar, click the "Mortgages" module
  2. Locate the deal: Find and open the Mortgage deal you would like to update 
  3. Click the Update from Velocity Button: The button is in the top right of your screen next to the "Actions" button

      4. Check the Auto-populated Deal Number and Submit: There is no need to include your firm code as it'll auto populate.

Mortgage Application Mapping

When a mortgage is pulled from Velocity into your BluMortgage CRM, a Mortgage will be created (or updated) and all applicants associated with the mortgage application in Velocity will be created (or updated) as Borrowers, and associated with the Mortgage in your CRM.

Deal Stages

By default, the mortgage stage in the CRM updates according to the data in Velocity. The default stage mapping and how to change it is shown below.
You can update the data on a deal without updating the stage only when using the button in the Mortgage Detail View, and keeping the Update Mortgage Stage toggle disabled.

How to Update Deal Stage Mapping

If you want to update this stage mapping based on your process, or if you have introduced custom stages in BluMortgage, you can do so by following these instructions:
  1. Log In: Access your Blue Mortgage CRM account.

  1. Access Settings: Click the gear (⚙️) icon for settings.

  1. Navigate to Installed Extensions: In settings, go to "Marketplace" then "All" then "Installed"

  1. Find Velocity Integration: Locate the "Velocity Integration" extension.

  1. Open Stage Mapping: Scroll down to the "Extension Settings" section and click "Edit"

  1. Edit Mapping: Modify mapping to align Velocity statuses with CRM stages.

  1. Save Changes: Save your customized mappings by clicking on "Save"

Note: If you leave a stage mapping blank, then the integration will simply not work for this stage.
A common scenario is when people only want deals to sync when they are Closed or Lost.

Create a deal in Velocity from BluMortgage

    1. Select the Borrower.
      1. In the borrower's module, select the borrower that would like to purchase a mortgage.
    2. Mandatory Fields.
      1. Once on the borrower's page, confirm that the Mandatory Fields are complete.
    3. Click on the "Create Deal in Velocity" button.
    4. Select the mortgage purpose.
      1. In this mortgage purpose section, you will need to select the type of mortgage the borrower is interested in.
        1. Purchase - when the borrower is purchasing a new mortgage.
        2. Refinance - when the borrower has an existing mortgage that would like to refinance.
        3. Renewal - when the borrower wants to renew a mortgage.
    5. Click Submit.
      1. After clicking submit, the system will give you the loan code for this new Velocity deal and it will be created in Velocity.

    Mandatory Fields

    These are the fields in the Borrower's Module that are required to utilize this button:
    1. First Name
    2. Last Name
    3. Email
    4. Phone or Mobile Number
